Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has dismissed claims by some leaders that Ukambani is dominated by the Wiper party, asserting that he and his constituents stand firmly behind President William Ruto and his government.
Mbai emphasized that the development his constituents need can only be realized through cooperation with the national government, not by aligning with the Wiper party.
“The development we seek can only come from William Ruto. The MCA of Mwitika ward is from UDA, the MP is from UDA, and the President is from UDA. If Ruto is driving development efforts, there’s no reason for us to withhold our support at the grassroots level,” Mbai stated.
He also criticized those promoting the idea that Wiper is the party of choice for the Kamba people, calling it misleading.
“Anyone opposing the President is not our ally. Some are spreading the notion that Wiper is the party for Kambas, but that’s what I call rubbish, it’s the government, not a party, that delivers results for the people,” he added.
Mbai concluded by saying this commitment is why he consistently supports government-sponsored motions in parliament, prioritizing policies that benefit his constituents over party allegiances.
“My people have given me the mandate to support the motions that are brought to parliament,” he noted.
