Kamba Presenters who didn’t study Journalism

Unknown to many some of the Kamba Radio and TV presenters did not study Journalism but different courses.

Here is a list of the presenters who didn’t step foot in media school.

Mukamba Mjanja

Known as Julius Mitambo, Mjanja is a presenter at Athiani FM and hosts a morning show dubbed Masangya na Athiani with co-presenter Bonventure Mutinda.

In a past interview, Mjanja disclosed that he never went to any media school and his Radio career kicked off while visiting the studios for an interview as a singer.

He began at Musyi FM before moving to rival station Athiani FM.

Mc Toto

Famously known for his dance moves in various functions Sylverius Nzioki is a presenter at Mutongoi FM and TV.

He took over the show ‘Nikyavya Ngwatilo’ after DJ Biado moved to Kamba TV.

In a YouTube interview Toto noted that he didn’t manage to go to College after High School.

He however got a Radio job at Ene FM as an intern despite not having papers. The entertainer explained that the interviewers couldn’t believe he didn’t study media.

“It always feels like a dream to be in this industry and that is why I respect it. While applying for an internship the interviewers asked me to tell them about myself after realizing the documents I had handed them were not connected to media,” he narrated.

Vuusya Ungu

His real name is Dominic Mbithi and hosts Kitundumo show on Kamba TV every Friday alongside Ututi Wa Kyuma.

He is among the celebrated Benga artists in Ukambani known for famous songs like ‘Aka no ma mithemba’ ‘Christmas’ ‘Muyi wa Ikuyu’ ‘Muoi’ among many others.
