A 45-year-old man from Site in Kitui Town killed his wife, 39 years old by strangling after having family disputes.
Confirming the incident, Kitui Central Sub-county Police Commander Peter Karanja said that the man after committing the murder brought himself to Kitui Town police station.
The sub-county police boss went on to say that the man was the one who reported the case to the police and he is now under police custody waiting to be arraigned in court.
“We have received reports from a man who brought himself to the station. The 45-48-year-old man reported that he had killed his 39-year-old wife by strangling her with rope. Immediately police rushed to the scene and investigations started. The man is in police custody,” Karanja said.
Police rushed to the scene as investigations commenced on what could have transpired for the man to commit such a heinous act to his wife.
The Body of the deceased was taken moved to Kitui Referral Hospital Mortuary for preservation awaiting postmortem.
