Kalonzo Musyoka’s confidant and Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has defended the Wiper party’s move to issue direct tickets to some of the Aspirants.

Addressing the press Maanzo noted that the party had investigated and done polls to establish which candidates are the most popular.

The outspoken lawmaker said that issuing direct tickets was not something new since almost all parties had done the same.

“Wiper didn’t do something that has not been done before, the same was done by Jubilee, UDA, ODM, and other parties,” said Maanzo.

“Even in South Africa the ANC party decides who becomes Member of Parliament, Minister or even the President,” he added.

Maanzo also brushed off some of the leaders castigating the move stating that those complaining don’t have the party at heart dismissing them as hypocrites who were just hiding in the party.

He revealed that most of those complaining would have shown their true colors once elected.

“These are people who lost and are leaving are not loyal to the party and we knew some of them they are just like dogs hiding behind a blade of grass,”Maanzo said.

He said the choice made by the party was satisfactory and rallied the electorate to vote for Wiper candidates.

Early this year Maanzo assured candidates joining the party of free and fair nominations. But some of the candidates cried foul after the party gave direct tickets. Some of the areas include Makueni Women Rep and Kibwezi East. Missed the stories? Check out below;
