Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has waded into the ongoing standoff between the Machakos County Executive and the County Assembly, taking a shot at Speaker Anne Kiusya for allegedly siding with President William Ruto’s camp.
Speaking during a rally in Machakos, Kalonzo accused Kiusya of partisan conduct and questioned her decision to unilaterally suspend assembly sittings for over a month without valid justification.
In his speech, Kalonzo said that if Kiusya, who was elected mostly by Wiper MCAs, does not toe the line, then she needs to be removed.
“Na hii mambo inafanyika hapa Machakos, Speaker anafunga Bunge vile anataka. Speaker Kiusya, it’s either you’re with us or against us. Nilikuona kwa Ruto enda Ukiendanga,” Kalonzo said, drawing cheers from supporters.

“Those who went to Ruto to beg for development, what development yet the constitution guarantees you that? I’m proud of Governors Mutula Junior, Wavinya, and Malombe for refusing to go to statehouse .”He added
His remarks come just days after the Machakos County Assembly leadership appeared before the Senate to explain the suspension of proceedings.
Speaker Kiusya reportedly faced tough questioning from Senators over the prolonged closure.
The assembly has been sharply divided, with some MCAs rallying behind the speaker while others have openly opposed her leadership.
Tensions escalated last month after a group of MCAs initiated plans to impeach Kiusya, plans that were cut short when she suspended the house. Chaos erupted in the Assembly, where several MCAs were injured.
