Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has called on Mavoko MP Patrick Makau to return to Wiper or formally exit the party.
Speaking in Mavoko, Mwangangi said Makau had repeatedly failed to attend Wiper Party events in the county and accused him of disrespecting the party leadership.
“Na nimeona whenever our party leader Kalonzo akona event in this county, Mheshimiwa hapa anapotea. Ama ako na sababu ya kutoattend,” said Mwangangi.
He also criticized the MP for using the media to address Kalonzo Musyoka and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua instead of engaging them directly.
“He should stop addressing Kalonzo and Gachagua in newspapers and the media. If he has an issue, he should address it internally,” he added.

Mwangangi further warned that under the Political Parties Act, any sign of association with a rival party could be interpreted as defection.
“If he’s showing signs of aligning with another party, then he is deemed to have left. Let him either come back or leave once and for all. We do not have a problem with that,” Mwangangi stated.
He accused Makau of funding demonstrations after the two leaders’ visits and trying to portray Kalonzo as weak in the region, claims that reflect growing tension within the Wiper party in Machakos County
