Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has issued a strong call to Wiper party supporters to reject MPs who defied Kalonzo Musyoka’s directive by supporting the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking in Ikombe, Yatta sub-county, Mwangangi emphasized that Kalonzo’s instructions on these key issues were clear, but some lawmakers broke ranks, casting their votes in favor of both measures.
According to Mwangangi, this was a betrayal not only of the party’s unity but also of the people who trusted these leaders to uphold Wiper’s values.
“Kalonzo was firm, he asked lawmakers to vote ‘no’ to the bill, yet on the eve of the vote, some were seen on the sidelines, receiving ‘something’ and ultimately voting ‘yes,’” Mwangangi revealed, alluding to alleged under-the-table deals. “I know how these things work. I was in Parliament; I’ve seen it before.”
Mwangangi went on to urge voters to make their voices heard in the 2027 election, suggesting that any lawmaker who voted for Gachagua’s impeachment or backed the Finance Bill no longer deserves a seat.
“These leaders put their interests above the people’s. Let’s not give them another chance,” he declared.
Last week, wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked the MPs who voted yes to Gachagua’s impeachment to move to UDA before being punished.
Kalonzo was angry that these lawmakers chose to go against him and the people of Ukambani at large. Missed the story? check it out below;
