I will not step down again for anyone Makau tells Kalonzo

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has said that in 2027 he is not going to step down for anyone like he did for Wavinya ahead of the 2022 polls.

Speaking while accompanying Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Makau told Musyoka that he was not stepping down and he was going to fight for Machakos Governor’s seat.

“We have supported this party me and Mbui to the extent of bringing people to the party and they get seats. This time round I am serious and I will not step down for anyone am in wiper till I die,” said Makau.

His words did not lie well with Machakos County Senator Agnes Kavindu who told him to hold his horses about contesting for Machakos Gubernatorial Seat come 2027.

Kavindu who had also accompanied Kalonzo Musyoka at Miumbuni Secondary School told Makau to focus on other areas noting that when Kalonzo Musyoka becomes the President in 2027 he will have a bigger position in the National Government.

“My brother Makau, when Kalonzo will be our President in 2027 you will have a bigger position like Wetangula, Mudavadi, and the like. For now, don’t focus on the Machakos Gubernatorial Seat, focus on the National Government,” said Kavindu.

Ahead of the 2022 polls, Kalonzo brokered a deal that saw Makau step out of the Machakos Gubernatorial race and endorse Wavinya Ndeti.
