There will be no peace in Tala if police who killed Nduva Muli are not moved – Matungulu MP

Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has said there will be no peace in Tala from Monday until the police officers alleged to have killed Muli Nduva are arrested and transferred from Tala.

Mule spoke at the burial of Abubakar Muli Nduva who was arrested and said to have died at the hands of the police in Tala. Several other leaders from Matungulu joined mourners during the burial.

“Police IG Mutyambai, if you have been defeated by the work of protecting Kenyans. We are waking up with tears coming to bury this young man (Muli Nduva) and you send police here to stop the funeral? Toto was beaten on his head and injured. From Monday, if the police officers who killed Toto are not removed from Tala there will be no peace.” Mule said.

Mule’s words were echoed by Tala Ward MCA Alex Kamitu who is an ex-police officer who said the report concerning Muli’s death would not be tampered with.

“Those investigating this death are from IPOA so no information can be brought by anyone and that report cannot be tampered with so whoever killed our son must be arrested,” Kamitu said.

Dr. Philip Munyao an MP aspirant in Matungulu Constituency condoled with the family noting that justice for Muli alias Toto was needed so that the lives of youths like Muli would be secure in the hands of the police and as well as secure the future of the youth and reduce extrajudicial killings.

“As our National anthem goes “Haki iwe ngao” or justice be our shield and defender, we seek justice on the death of Toto, and police should stop extrajudicial killings,” Philip said.

Muli Nduva died in Kenyatta National Hospital after he was arrested by police in Tala who said that he took acid only for a postmortem report to indicate he died from head injuries after being hit with a blunt object.

A section of Leaders from the Wiper party last week weighed in on extrajudicial killings that have been ongoing in the country. Speaking during the burial of Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu’s brother Martin Nzau Mbuku in Ngonda, the leaders who were led by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior called on the Inspector general Hillary Mutyambai to ensure that justice was served to the family of Muli Nduva.
