Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musau Musyoka has come out hard on wiper leaders who castigated Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai over failure to act on extrajudicial killings and tame rogue police officers.
Taking to his Twitter account, The MP said that the police officers were adults and Inspector General was doing his work saying that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) and justice system needed to be functional and do their work.
“I disagree with leaders castigating the IG @IG_NPS for some officers gone rogue. These officers are adults and the IG may not babysit them. What we need is a functional justice system. IPOA and courts should do their work and charge officers in Nduva muli’s case with murder,” Mwala MP in the Tweet said.
On Saturday (1st October), several wiper leaders called out the IG over extrajudicial killings that had happened in the country saying that he had failed on his work.
“Those who killed the two Kianjokoma brothers are in jail. When a police officer commits murder he shouldn’t be transferred but charged. Why should I call Mutyambai, is he the law?” Senator Mutula said.
“I want to tell Mutyambai that if those people are not arrested and you speak the same language as Mutula, you are a shame, in fact, Mutyambai might be the worst IG ever,” Mutula added.
