Stop using us for politics – Matungulu persons with disabilities tell off politicians

People living with disabilities in Matungulu Subcounty have accused political leaders of using them when seeking votes only to forget about them out when they get elected.

Led by Ngomeni/Katine Disabled group Chairman Thomas King’esi, they said that most politicians take advantage of the disabled by giving them empty promises that are never fulfilled.

Thomas expressed disappointment that the disabled had gotten enough of the lies and now they were going to vote for a leader who would take good care of their needs.

“Politicians come to us with promises and give us hope only to forget us and we are tired of this we need people who will take care of our needs as a community,” Thomas said.

His words were echoed by Joseph Mbithi who said that it was hard for disabled children to go to school as most of them lacked items to aid in their going to school and learning.

Dr. Philip Munyao an MP aspirant in Matungulu gave food hampers to celebrate the new year with the disabled community where he promised to ensure that all their needs would be catered for.
