Police have launched investigations over the death of a grade 5 student from Kalie Village, Nguluni location in the Matungulu Sub-County.
The Grade 5 pupil committed suicide by hanging herself on Sunday evening in their kitchen.
According to a police report seen by Mauvoo News, the girl namely Peace Ndanu who was a pupil at Nguluni Township Primary used a cloth to hang herself on rafters inside their kitchen house.
“It was reported by one Pascal Kalala a Village Elder from Kalie that today at about 1730hrs a juvenile girl aged 11 years had committed suicide by hanging herself on rafters inside their kitchen house using a piece of cloth,” read the police report.
“The incident took place while both her parents were not around. The deceased was with her siblings. Police visited the scene and took the body to Patjud mortuary pending autopsy,” added the report.
