Peninah Malonza shouted down at Musungu Kyumbe’s burial

Cabinet Secretary for East Africa Community, ASALs, and Regional Development Peninah Malonza was shouted down at the burial of Radio presenter Musungu Kyumbe in Kitui Central.

CS Malonza was defending President Ruto’s foreign trips saying they are meant to address the cost of living.

“The cost of living is very high and even the president knows that. That is why the president is traveling to get money because he inherited empty coffers. But he is working hard to address the cost of living. “CS Malonza said amidst heckles from mourners.

“The President is working hard to address the cost of living and I am sure he will address it. My friends, please allow me to finish.” She begged mourners as the shouting intensified.

Malonza told mourners that the president was just one and the community needed to find a way to work with him.

“As CS for East Africa community, ASALs and regional development. Kitui has received some funds under the ASALs; 250 million for the completion of Umaa Dam, 11 dams in Kitui county’s 7 constituencies. Next week I will visit Kitui to visit those affected by ongoing rains.” She added.
