Enraged parents of Ngomano DEB Primary School in Makutano ma Kambi, Kibwezi Sub-County on Monday closed the school protesting the leadership of the head teacher.
A section of the parents who spoke to the media accused the headteacher of mismanaging school funds.
They locked the offices with padlocks and the gate with thorn fences to prevent pupils from entering.
“He does not explain to the parents how funds are used. Like, for instance, the CDF renovated several classrooms and the old iron sheets were sold by the teacher, till today we don’t know where he took the money,” One of the parents claimed.
Another parent explained that whenever one tries to question how funds are used the school head becomes defensive and disrespects them.
The school head has been in the school for over 6 years and the parents want him transferred.
They also accused him of dissolving the Board of Governors and creating his own with people who favor him.
The infuriated parents took their kids back home vowing to not bring them back until the Ministry of Education transfers the head teacher.
