Give us first priority in auctions -Boda boda Operators

Boda boda Operators in Matungulu Sub-county have called on the police to be giving them the first priority during Government auctions.

Speaking during a meeting with the OCS at Tala Police Station Matungulu Subcounty Bodaboda Chairman Joel Mwendwa said that it would be helpful for them when motorbikes that are being auctioned by police were first given to them as first priority.

“Our plea to the police is when they have auctions for motorbikes they first consider the Boda boda people because getting money to buy a new motorbike is hard,” said Mwendwa.

“Most motorbikes out there go for 150,000 shillings and many of us do not have such kind of money so we end up getting them on loan but if we are given the first priority at least we can own motorbikes without loans,” he added.

Mwendwa went on further to ask police and the boda boda operators to work together to assist in ensuring that they help end the insecurity that has been rampant in Tala Town.

“We need to work together with the police to ensure that we end insecurity in our towns because we are the people who interact a lot with people and we know their behaviors,” he added.
