Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has issued a stern warning to county staff who will be found selling drugs meant to be given to patients in public hospitals.
Addressing the press after inspecting county Government vehicles and receiving drugs, Wavinya warned that anyone found selling pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals meant for hospitals in their pharmacies will be fired.
“And let me send a warning to anyone thinking of taking these drugs that have just come and selling them in their private clinics or pharmacies, be rest assured that you will be fired,” Wavinya warned.
“I have so many people who can give me that information, I have spies all over and even your patients will tell me if you attempt such. Most of the people in Machakos have my telephone number and they will definitely tell me, so everyone should do their work diligently,” she added.
Wavinya also noted that more pharmaceuticals would be delivered by the end of the week to ensure that all hospitals have supplies to attend to locals.
“We have received a consignment of drugs and pharmaceuticals but I assure you that at the end of the week we shall be receiving more which will be supplied to all hospitals in the county,” she went on.
During her swearing-in, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked Wavinya to ensure county hospitals have drugs. Wavinya in her speech promised to prioritize the issue. Missed the story? Check it out below;
