Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has vowed to stand against any attempts to undermine Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, describing him as a distinguished statesman.
Speaking at Bomas of Kenya during a Lower Eastern youth meeting, Dr. Mutua emphasized the significance of respecting Kalonzo’s contributions to the country, highlighting his tenure as Vice President and various ministerial roles.
“Kalonzo Musyoka is a respected leader whose achievements cannot be overlooked. It’s okay to differ with him, but that should never translate into disrespect,” Mutua said.

He urged leaders to engage in constructive dialogue instead of personal attacks. “You can express your disagreements with him without getting personal. Let’s uphold decorum in leadership,” The CS added.
Dr. Mutua revealed plans to convene a consultative meeting with leaders from the Ukambani region to address key issues affecting the community and chart a unified course forward.
However, he criticized some leaders who skipped his recent professionals’ meeting, challenging them to take initiative.
“Those who failed to attend should ask themselves why they haven’t convened their own meetings. Leadership requires action, not excuses,” Mutua remarked.
The meeting brought together youths, professionals, and leaders from Ukambani to deliberate on regional development and explore solutions to pressing challenges.
Dr. Mutua reiterated his commitment to leveraging his position in government to advocate for the region’s interests and ensure meaningful progress.
