Residents of Nguni in Mwingi Central have called on Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to rein in their Member of Parliament, Dr. Gideon Mulyungi, accusing him of arrogance and inciting tension during public events.
During a community meeting, the locals voiced their frustration, alleging that the MP has consistently disrespected fellow leaders, including Kitui Governor Julius Malombe.
“Dr. Mulyungi, we, the people of Nguni are very disappointed. You don’t respect leaders in this county, starting with Governor Malombe. We want peace and unity among our leaders,” said one resident.
Another community member criticized the MP’s verbal attacks, saying they were hindering development efforts in the region.
“We can’t enjoy meaningful progress when our MP keeps insulting the governor. His recent remarks were disgraceful and not befitting of a national leader,” the resident alleged
The residents warned that Mulyungi’s conduct was not only tarnishing the image of the Wiper Party but also posing a threat to Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential bid.
“Kalonzo, please speak to Mulyungi. His actions are ruining your reputation. We support you, but this is pulling you down,” another speaker added.
The calls come amid rising political tensions in the area, with residents now demanding accountability and civility from their elected leaders.
