A form 4 student from St. Stephen Musaalani Secondary School sustained burn injuries around her neck after an acid attack incident occurred in the school.
According to a Police report seen by Mauvoo News, the student who is aged 18 years old was attacked by a fellow student during a lab lesson and she threw acid at her.
The mother of the victim reported the matter to the Police before she rushed her daughter who had 5 percent-degree burns on her neck to Mwala Level 4 Hospital for treatment.
“Reported today by Emmaculate Munyiva a resident of Kandumbu Village, Mwala that today at around 1500hrs she received information that her 18 years daughter and Form 4 student at St. Stephen Musaalani Secondary School was sprayed with acid at the school lab by her fellow classmate well known to her,” read the police report.
“She was rushed to Mwala Level 4 and admitted. Police officers from Mwala Police Station visited the student at the hospital where she was found with a 5 percent degree burn around her neck, shoulders, and ears and in stable condition,” the report went on.
Police now have launched investigations to determine what transpired.
