Mutula: Nick Mwendwa was fired from FKF for being Kamba, I warned Uhuru

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo has claimed that he had warned former President Uhuru Kenyatta against sacking the Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa.

Speaking in Wote while receiving the County team that participated and won KYISA games, Mutula said that Nick Mwendwa was sacked for being a Kamba and he had done nothing wrong.

He went on to say that Kambas should love their own like the other communities and ensure that when one is in trouble they fight for them without failure.

“Without bothering about the political consequences of representing Nick Mwendwa, I went to court to represent him. I told President Uhuru that Kenya will be banned by FIFA if you charge Nick Mwendwa in Court, we were banned and he was released,” said Mutula.

“Let me tell you no matter what you should love your tribe, in good and bad times, we can’t live like that, other tribes stand with their own, and some we know are thieves. the mistake that Nick had made was that he was from this community (Kamba),” he added.

Nick Mwendwa comes from Makueni County and he is the President of the Football Federation of Kenya.

The Court in March dismissed the 38M  theft case filed against Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji.

Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Wilson Rading dismissed the charges against the embattled FKF boss saying they were “defective, unlawful, and unconstitutional”.
