Muthama’s plea to Ukambani Religious Leaders

Religious leaders from the Ukambani region have been urged to call for a meeting of all leaders drawn from the region to decide which direction the community heads ahead of the August elections.

Speaking at Kyeleni Market during his campaign tour, Machakos Gubernatorial Aspirant and also UDA Chairman Johnson Muthama said that it was high time leaders from the Ukambani region got to know the direction the community was going to take.

“All religious leaders from all churches should convene a meeting with all ukambani leaders so that we can discuss which way forward for the community as we are lagging behind and we need a direction as a community,” said Muthama.

He also noted through this that the Kamba community would regain its respect because respectable leaders have been coming from the region and it is high time now the glory was regained.

“We need to stop being disrespected as a community. The first Chief Justice of this Nation was from Kamba, Paul Ngei, General Mulinge, Kianga, we have never been reluctant in fighting for this country, why should we be disrespected,” Muthama said.

On matters Machakos politics, Muthama said that if elected Governor he would ensure that he equips all hospitals as well as raise the health standards in the county.

“If elected all dispensaries in Machakos county will be equipped in a way that they can serve as level 3 or 4 in the county. We need to revive the health status of Machakos county and give back to the community,” Muthama promised.
