Needy Machakos Girl who scored 391 Unable to join Muthale Girls due to lack of fees

Despite Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha championing for 100 percent transition, there are candidates who did their KCPE exams but are yet to proceed to high school.

Veronica Lucas did her exam at Kivani primary school in Mua, Machakos and scored 391 marks. Although she was top of her class the girl has not joined Muthale Girls High School due to lack of fees.

Her mother Patricia Nzau explained that they have applied to various scholarships but didn’t get anything. She explained that her daughter’s future is getting bleak as days go on.

“I get teary watching my second-born daughter stay at home while others are in class. She schooled at Kivani Primary school and got 391 marks. I have tried to get fees but I’m unable because I have no work. I request anyone who can help my daughter join Form one to do so please and relieve me of this heavy burden,” Patricia said.

The girl Veronica says when she received her calling letter she was over the moon but also sad because she knew her mother couldn’t afford the fee.

“I’m grateful to God because I passed my exam and called to National School Muthale Girls but my mother is not able to raise the fee on her own,” she said.

She narrated that she hopes to be a lawyer after school and remains hopeful.

Although the family is trying as much as they can to find funds time is not on their side. Form one reporting was from 4th May and 3 weeks have now passed since other learners reported to school.

Those who wish to assist the girl can get in touch with Rev. Maweu on 0724781877.
