UDA chairman Johnson Muthama has commended the UDA party for conducting what he termed as Free and Fair nominations given it’s the party’s first time holding nominations.
Speaking at Katwanyaa market in Matungulu – Machakos County, Muthama said that even if there were hiccups in the nominations they were easily managed revealing that the Women representative seat in Machakos which has two candidates will be negotiated without going for nominations.
“Nominations in UDA have been the most successful in the country more than other parties , we have shown evidently that we are a party that is democratic and no other party can outshine us. We are like that as a party, there minor issues like the Machakos Women Representative seat but that one we shall sort it out before the end of this week,” Muthama said.
On matters of Gubernatorial elections in Machakos, the Former Senator insisted that he will still be on the ballot unlike naysayers who have been spreading rumours that he was not vying.
He said that he was going to garner not less than 75 percent of the votes that will be cast for the Gubernatorial seat in the coming General Elections.
“For those saying that I will not be on the ballot, tell them that I am vying for this seat. I am not trying to see if I will be voted in or not rather I am a candidate who will be voted in with not less than 75 percent of Machakos county votes,” The UDA Chairman went on.
Muthama was accompanied by his Deputy Governor Prof. Faith Muli, Lawyer Kyatha Mbaluka who is vying for senator on a UDA Ticket, Matungulu MP UDA Aspirant Mwania Mwanzia, Women Representative Aspirant Ann Ndilo among others.
