Malombe tells off Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio over 2027 politics

Kitui Governor Julius Malombe has urged Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio Wambua to cease using oversight as a decoy to do 2027 politics.

Addressing the media in Kitui, Malombe encouraged the Senator to put aside political differences and work for the county.

The governor stated that Kiio is touring the County through a project dubbed ” Oversight mashinani” which he termed as pure politics and urged the senator to oversight county projects in partnership with the senate committees not individually.

“If it is oversight, the senate is allowed to check how the government funds are utilized but through a Senate committee and not as individual Senator” Malombe said.

Malombe claimed that 70 percent of the senator’s speech during the tours was about 2027 politics for the governor position.

The governor urged Kiio to cease using government projects as part of 2027 campaigns and rather show the projects he has done since he was elected as Kitui Senator from 2017.

” He visited Musovo hospital in Mwingi, a project that was done during Musila’s term, and claims it was not operationalized yet under Musila’s reign Kiio was still the senator and didn’t take any action in improving the hospital, ” added Malombe.

The senator has recently visited other projects like a slaughterhouse in Kabati and the Kwa Kilui stone crusher as the governor reiterated that that is the senator’s plan for campaigning for 2027.

The governor further advised Kitui residents to be wise and resist
being lured since the senator is championing politics.
