Machakos Trade Chief Officer Simon Kitheka has been reinstated after weeks of suspension.
Kitheka who did not want to engage a lot with the media concerning the issue of being reinstated and the reason he had been suspended said that he was back in his office.
“As we are speaking now I am in my office in Mavoko Sub-county, am back in office and I will continue to support Governor Wavinya,” said Kitheka.
Simon Kitheka was suspended last month under unclear circumstances and asked to surrender his official car and vacate his office.
“I trust this finds you well, I refer to a memo dated 19th May 2023 by the County Executive Member for Trade, Tourism, Industry, and Innovation. Vide this memo you are suspended from office until further notice,” read a part of the letter of suspension.
It was alleged that Kitheka had been suspended for allegedly interfering with Trans Nzoia County Chamber of Commerce elections.
