Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has nominated 27 people as Chief officers in the various county departments.
Muiya Andrew Mwema has been nominated as chief officer of Agriculture and Food Security, Maureen Mwende Maingi County Administration and Decentralized units, Charles Kyalo Mutinda ECDE and vocational training, and Katusya Dennis Musyoka ICT.
Ngumbau Mutiso Benedict is the nominee in the Co-operative Development department, Col. Gideon Mbithi inspectorate, Fire fighting, and Emergency services, Simba Simon Mwako Education, and Mercy Ndululu Office of the Governor.
Metho Benson Kituku has been nominated as Chief officer of Environment, Mutunga Anthony Lands, Paul Mawili Wambua Urban Development, Mwanza Lawrence Maingi Public Service and Performance Management, and Adipo Collins Otieno Finance.
Mike Jace will be Chief officer of Revenue management, Mulei Stephen Kyalo Climate change, Simon Kirima Muraguri Energy, Guliye Abdullahi Yunis Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Mutua Tobias Mutuku Economic Planning, Munyao Joseph Mutwiwa Industry and Innovation, Kanyae Bruce Isika Youth and Papaa Koin Lompo public works.
Dr. Miyienda Wycliffe was nominated Chief officer Medical Services, Kioko Bernice Mueni Gender, Sports and social welfare, Kasivu Justus Musau will remain in the docket he served in the last regime Roads and Transport. Kala Mohammed Rashid will be the chief officer Public health and Machakos Businessman Kitheka Simon Kioko has been nominated to Trade and External relations docket. Vincent Muendo Musili is the nominee Culture and Tourism docket.
The list was tabled in Machakos County Assembly last week and the vetting is scheduled for 29th December at the Assembly chambers.
However, the nominations have been subject to controversy as only 24 positions were advertised and 27 nominations were done. The interviews were also carried out without a public Service Board in place. The Board has 2 members at the moment after 5 were degazzeted last month after impeachment and some resigning.
