Anxiety as section of Machakos County Staff Sent on compulsory leave

Anxiety has risen following the decision to send all Staff who work at the governor’s office in Machakos County on compulsory leave.

According to the letter seen by Mauvoo News dated September 2nd,2022 the staff have been directed to go on a compulsory leave which is set to commence next week Monday the 5th of September.

In the letter also, the staff were asked to submit their academic certificates, testimonials, and current appointment letters to the office of the public service board.

The letter which was written by Chief Officer in the office of Governor Robert Maitha stated, “This is to communicate the decision of the Machakos County Public Service Board that you are required to proceed on leave effective 5,September 2022,”

“Further, you are requested to submit copies of your academic certificates, testimonials, and current appointment letters to the County Public Service Board on 4th October 2022,” concluded the letter.

This comes days after the Public Service Board met with Machakos county Governor Wavinya Ndeti on 31st August 2022 where she affirmed that she was going to work together with the board to streamline public service in the county.

“I have this evening met with members of the Machakos County Public Service Board led by the Chairman, Mr. Luka Kioko, Vice chair Madam Cecilia Mbinya and Board CEO Mr. Onesmus Muia. We resolved to work together to streamline Public Service in the county,” she said after the meeting.

“I assured them, on behalf of my Government, of our total support for their programs as we all aspire to an effective and efficient Public Service,” she added then.
