The Machakos County Secondary School Term 1 Games were held at Machakos School end of last week and here is a list of the winners.
In the Rugby 15’s finals, Machakos School emerged victorious, defeating Katwanyaa Secondary School with a score of 8-6. The intense match concluded with Machakos School claiming the title of the new champions. In the playoffs, Katangi Boys secured a 9-3 victory against St. Augustine Secondary School (Mlolongo), demonstrating their prowess on the field.
In hockey, Muvuti Boys triumphed over Katangi Boys with a score of 2-0 in the boys’ finals, while AIC Nyayo Girls dominated the girls’ category, securing a resounding 3-0 win against Mwala Girls. Both winning teams will advance to the regional level, aiming to maintain their winning streaks.
In handball, Kwanthanze Girls asserted their dominance, clinching victory with a commanding score of 25-9 against Dr. Charles Secondary School. The remarkable performance crowned Kwanthanze Girls as the county champions for 2024. While in the boys Matuu day scored 17-16 against Machakos school.
The excitement continued with basketball finals, where Lukenya School secured a decisive victory over Machakos School with a score of 54-25 in the boys’ category. In the girls’ finals, Kyasioni Girls under the coachship of Mr Muoki emerged triumphant, defeating Muthetheni Mixed with a score of 38-31, earning them the title of the new basketball champions.
The competition also witnessed intense competition in other disciplines, including handball and basketball, highlighting the dedication and sportsmanship of the participating schools.
