The excitement was palpable as Kitui County wrapped up its Term 2 Secondary School Ball Games, held at Katheka Boys from 17 June to 21 June 2025. Several schools emerged victorious, booking their spots to represent the county at the upcoming Regional Championships, to be held at Kangaru School.
In a display of talent, teamwork, and determination, schools from across the county battled for top honors in various disciplines. The following teams have been crowned county champions and will represent Kitui County at the regional level.
Kanyangi Boys in the Boys Soccer category displayed skill and resilience throughout the tournament to clinch the county title. Mbitini Girls dominated the pitch with flair and earned their spot as county champions.
Gankanga Secondary showcased powerful serves and great teamwork in the Volleyball boys category to take the top spot, while Ilika Girls outclassed their rivals with disciplined play and strategy in the girls’ category.
In Basketball, Kyuso Boys took control of the court with sharp shooting and solid defense, while Ikutha Girls demonstrated finesse and speed, sealing their victory in style.
In Netball, Gankanga continued their dominance in court sports by also taking the netball crown.
In Rugby 7s (Boys),Kitui School powered through with strength and agility to win the title, while Gai Secondary Overcame stiff competition to emerge as the queens of sevens rugby.
The Regional Championships promise more thrilling action as Kitui County’s finest face off against champions from neighboring counties. All roads lead to Kangaru School for the next phase of the competition.
