Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has unveiled a mega water project in Mutitu/kaliku ward, in the Kitui East constituency to tackle water insecurity problems.
The water project is aimed to serve two major primary purposes: irrigation and domestic water supply for over 1000 households.
While addressing the Mutitu/kaliku residents Mbai emphasized the urgency for dealing with water insecurity issues. The project will cover an area of up to 8 square km in the Mutitu North sub-county.
“Kitui East residents entrusted me with the opportunity to serve them, water insecurity is a significant issue affecting our people. I am committed to resolving this problem,” He stated.
Mbai added a five-acre mango demonstration area has been established for irrigation benchmark.
The MP assured the water project initiative will get rid of water insecurity issues and improve the lives of Kitui East residents.
