Police in Kitui town have begun a manhunt for thugs believed to have murdered a middle-aged man.
The Boda Boda operator who was not identified immediately was found killed and his body dumped near a church on the outskirts of the town.
Martin Mutua, area Nyumba Kumi chairman confirmed the incident saying that cases of boda boda operators being killed have been rife in the past days.
He expressed confidence in the security agents stating that they will soon catch those who committed this heinous act and be brought to book.
“We are collaborating with the police in a bid to ensure security for the residents in the area. Those who killed this young man who was just trying to provide for his family will soon be caught and charged to serve as a lesson to thugs targeting Boda Boda operators,” Mutua said.
The body was moved to Kitui level 4 hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting post moterm.
