Kitengela Preacher sued for Obtaining Daughter’s Scholarship falsely

A couple from Kitengela has been given an ultimatum of 7 days to pay Ksh. 450,000 to Caring Hearts and Hands of Hope Organisation for falsely obtaining a scholarship.

The duo was given a demand letter by MJD associates and Advocates on behalf of Caring Hearts High School and Hands of hope which had stated the demand and the lawsuit.

The letter seen by Mauvoo News was addressed to a Kitengela-based preacher Ezekiel Macharia and his wife Teresia Mbula for giving false information to obtain a scholarship from the organization for their daughter.

“We have been instructed by Caring Hearts High School and Caring Hearts and Hands Of Hope to demand, which we hereby do, the immediate payment of Ksh. 450,000 which you obtained sponsorship for school fees and other expenses for your daughter, Dorcas Wangari Macharia under false pretenses from 2019,” read the letter in part.

Speaking to the press, the founder of Caring Hearts and Hands Of Hope Organization which gives out scholarships Dr. Vincent Kituku revealed that Pastor Ezekiel Macharia and his wife Teresia Mbula had lied that the daughter was from a single-parent family on the day of admission.

Kituku said that the pastor’s wife had even coached the girl to lie when they brought her for admission in 2019 so as to ensure she schools for the entire four years. Later, he found out that the parents had a church in Kitengela and were not poor as they purported to be.

“It came to our knowledge that the parents had a big church in Kitengela and they were not poor as they said. The sad thing is that he took a chance that someone who was needy would have gotten and such actions need to be condemned,” Kituku said.

Efforts to speak to the preacher and his wife did not bear fruit as they looked shocked about the whole story.
