Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga turned 77 today.
Kenyans took to social media to celebrate him with messages of goodwill.
Former Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana said he gets his inspiration from Mutunga who has been at the forefront in matters concerning youths.
“Happy birthday Willy Mutunga, my teacher, comrade at the university, and in the trenches for a Better Kenya. Your love, concern, and mentorship of the youth and passion for a prosperous Kenya and Africa inspire me. We pray to God to grant you more years for US,”Kibwana in his Facebook said.
Activist Boniface Mwangi termed Mutunga as someone who is incorruptible and who has mentored many people.
“Happy Birthday to a great man. A gentle intellectual giant. An incorruptible human being. My mentor, my dad, and a grandfather to my children, Dr. Mutunga. I love him and l pray to God that He gives him more years to continue mentoring and inspiring the younger generation,” Mwangi said.
Mutunga served as Chief Justice from 2011 to 2016 and played a pivotal role in the 90s during the constitution-making.
