Kalonzo mourns General Francis Ogolla

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has joined other leaders mourning the Chief Of Defence Forces of Kenya General Francis Omondi Ogolla.

Ogolla died alongside 9 others after a chopper he was travelling in crashed in Kaben, Marakwet East on Thursday.

Through his official Facebook account, Kalonzo expressed his shock at the tragic news.

“It is with consternation and great shock that I received the news of the tragic death of General Francis Omondi Ogolla, Chief of Defence Forces, as a consequence of a tragic helicopter accident today at Kaben-Cheptulel border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties,” Kalonzo said.

The Wiper party leader described Ogolla as a highly decorated soldier who served with loyalty and dedication.

“General Ogolla was a highly decorated 4-star soldier with great vision. His loyalty and profound dedication to the cause of justice was unquestionable. I also mourn with the families of the nine fallen soldiers who also lost their lives in service to our Nation. The country is asking a lot of questions and the answers must be provided expeditiously.To General Ogolla’s Family, the Kenya Defence Forces, and the entire Nation, I offer my sincere condolences. May they rest in eternal peace,” he added.

President William Ruto has announced three days of national mourning, beginning Friday, April 19.
