Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has broken his silence after Mike Sonko defected from Azimio and joined Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza.

According to Kalonzo, Sonko was still a Wiper member and he would ensure that he gets justice if he becomes Chief minister after next week’s polls.

“The issue of Governor Sonko is a burden in my mind. We will resolve it. For instance, 3 Judges in Mombasa ordered IEBC to clear Sonko for him to vie as Governor. Very quickly supreme court asked for the files. We had given Sonko a very good legal team and I have expressed displeasure with the Chief Justice after saying she wouldn’t clear Sonko. Chebukati said that as well.” Kalonzo said will speaking to Kamba vernacular stations.

“If Ruto had a good heart and was willing, he should have talked to Chebukati’s friends to clear Sonko. This is all “Ukora”. I will ensure this issue is resolved because we have an appeal in the East Africa court of justice. I feel his pain and I have a sense of duty to help him. He is very popular with the Kenyan people.” Kalonzo went on.

The Wiper party leader noted that the mistake Sonko did was to join Ruto likening the move from moving from the frying pan to the fire.

“That is nothing, I still believe as a chief minister I will get Governor Sonko cleared and even if there will not be a byelection in Mombasa following the outcome of the appeal. Sonko did not resign from Wiper and is still a member. There are forces trying to block him. If he was on the ballot, the Mombasa seat would go to Wiper. That is not the way it should go even if it is competition ” He narrated.
