Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has claimed that the goons that destroyed property in the County during the anti-government demos were hired.
Speaking in Machakos, Mwangangi said that the vandals were ferried from other regions not noting that the residents of Machakos are peaceful people.
He condemned highly the destruction of property saying that people ought to have amicable talks and not destroy properties worth millions
“What was witnessed on Wednesday is bad, you cannot import people from other regions to come and destroy property in our county, Machakos people are peaceful and that is totally unacceptable,” said Mwangangi.
The vocal Deputy Governor added that those who caused the destruction of property will be arrested so they can answer for their crimes.
On Wednesday, a woman died in Machakos during the anti-government demos that were in Machakos and 13 people have been hospitalised after they got injuries during the demos.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti condemned the demos saying that she was not going to allow demos in her county saying that demonstrations were not the way to solve issues in the country.
Wiper party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, NARC Kenya Party leader Martha Karua, and other Azimio -One Kenya Alliance affiliated leaders visited the victims of the demos yesterday at Machakos Level 5 Hospital.
