Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has fired back at her critics, warning them not to confuse her silence for weakness.
Speaking during her development tour in Kathiani Sub-County, Ndeti shared the challenges she has faced since taking office, making it clear that she is unshaken by political noise.
She noted that she has been hearing the noise being made by her opponents but she remains unshaken.
“When I was elected, some leaders assumed they could manipulate me. They thought I’d give in to corruption and let them have their way after a few grumbles. But they misjudged me,” Wavinya said.
She noted that her administration has already completed over 50 projects in 2024, ranging from infrastructure improvements to community initiatives. “I don’t need to blow my own horn. The work I’ve done speaks for itself,” she emphasized.
Ndeti also used the moment to address her political opponents ahead of the next elections, assuring her supporters that she is ready to defend her seat.
“In Kathiani, I defeated 17 men to get here. I’m not afraid of anyone or anything,” she said, drawing applause from the crowd.
As part of her tour, the Governor launched a modern beam parchment store for the Kaliluni Farmers Cooperative Society, a project expected to boost the livelihoods of local farmers by improving how they store and process their produce.
Ndeti took time to engage with the residents, listening to their concerns and promising to address them. She encouraged the community to remain united and focused on development, saying that together they could transform the county.
“I am here to serve, not to be distracted by noise. My priority is to ensure Machakos remains on the path of progress,” she concluded.
