CCTV footage of Indian businessman killed on Valentine’s Day in Machakos emerges

CCTV footage in connection to the murder of Indian national businessman, Jayesh Kumar Kanji has been obtained by detectives. The team is investigating the circumstances behind the Indians’ disappearance and gruesome murder on Wednesday, February 14.

The footage released through a report by Citizen TV shows the Indian along Kondi Road with his wife while escorting his son to school on Wednesday, February 14.

The footage further reveals Mr. Kanji in the company of another Indian national in a white Toyota Prado driving along Mombasa road where the two were allegedly ambushed by Munguti Mulandi, Gedion Muasa, and Steven Mwau who are currently being detained as investigations continue.

Kanji was reported missing by a family member on Thursday, February 15 at Lang’ata police station

Detectives launched an investigation and arrested Munguti Mulandi in Athi River as the first suspect. He led them to the scene of the crime at Lukenya Conservancy where detectives recovered pieces of bones believed to be remains of Kanji as his body was doused in acid and other personal items including a blood-stained checked shirt, broken spectacle, an earring, and a metal rod believed to be one of the murder weapons.

As detectives continue their investigation, the motive behind Kanji’s murder remains unclear. Authorities are diligently working to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice.
