Machakos County Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has urged leaders in Ukambani region to come together and forge a unity of purpose for the sake of campaigning for Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid.
Speaking during a public participation session, Mwangangi noted that Kalonzo needs people to tour the country on his behalf seeking support from other regions.
According to Mwangangi, leaders from Ukambani need to halt in-house fights and have a united front with the same agenda.
“The fights have been there since the time of Mulu Mutisya but my prayer is that they should come to an end. I would be happy to see MPs from our region befriending their counterparts from other regions to support Kalonzo Musyoka. I would wish to see my governor and boss Wavinya Ndeti in Homabay talking to Wanga in search for support, that is the unity of purpose,” said Mwangangi.
The DG also complained about how the boundaries of the Ukambani region have been shifted while the leaders are silent.
“Our boundary has been shifting, Thika East was in Machakos but now it is in Kiambu, in Kamulu the boundary has moved, and also in Mavoko sub-county, it is important that our leaders focus and fight so that we don’t lose more of our land,” he noted.
Mwangangi spoke after attending public participation in Matungulu and Kangundo sub counties.
