Investigators have discovered the missing head of murdered JKUAT student Rita Waeni, in a dam located in Kiambaa, Kiambu County. The discovery was made by detectives through thorough forensic analysis.
Authorities at the scene managed to recover additional belongings believed to be those of the deceased.
Rita who hails from Mukimwani village in Makueni County was Slain by a Nigerian national in an Airbnb in Roysambu on Thursday last week.
Police, investigating the murder, are pursuing any leads in their efforts to apprehend anyone linked to the murder.
Rita Waeni’s family released a statement shedding light on the tragic events leading to her demise.
“We believe she was lured by her killer, who also attempted to extort money from her family, even after the heinous act,” read a portion of the family’s statement, recounting the victim’s final moments before her untimely death.
