Police in Machakos are hunting for a middle-aged man accused of killing his wife in Kausyani, Mavoko sub-county of Machakos county.
The decomposing body of Beth Wanjiku was found under her bed on Thursday afternoon.
Athiriver Sub County Criminal Investigation Officer John Kanda said that the husband identified as David Kiarie is being treated as the main suspect in the crime. He noted that the man killed his wife and hid her body under the bed.
Kanda disclosed that the incident was reported by an area village elder at the Joska police station.
The suspect is still at large as the motive of the murder is still a mystery to the police.
Crude weapons suspected to have been used to commit the murder were however discovered at the crime scene.
They include two swords, a broken wooden jembe handle, claw bar, kitchen knife and a plastic chair.
The body of the woman was removed to Kangundo level 4 hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting burial arrangements.
