Following a series of cryptic posts and‎‎ one lengthy Facebook post that has since attracted widespread reactions online, the outspoken journalist released a statement reaffirming her commitment to her journalism role, stressing that her role is to report, listen and provide a platform for diverse voices—without taking sides.‎‎

“As a journalist, my responsibility is not to endorse individuals but to allow space for dialogue,” Katumbi stated, emphasizing that interviewing a person should not be mistaken for supporting their views or opposing others.

She maintained that journalism must remain grounded in fairness, balance and integrity, regardless of public pressure or personal opinions.

‎‎Katumbi noted that her work has never been driven by hostility or personal attacks, adding that a free and responsible press should encourage conversation rather than promote silence, intimidation or division.
