Ushetani! MP Mule Slams Strange Rituals During Rider Mapetco’s Funeral

Matungulu MP Stephen Mutinda Mule has strongly condemned what he described as “cultic activities” at a burial in Masewani village, Kangundo Sub-county, last week.

The drama unfolded during the funeral of a boda boda rider popularly known as Mapetco, who died two weeks ago in a grisly road accident at Kathithyamaa.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of riders attending the burial blocked the family and clergy from accessing the gravesite, delaying the interment for more than 20 minutes.

The group smoked bhang, danced around the grave, and some even stripped before the body was finally lowered.

Mule expressed shock at the conduct, linking it to occult practices.

“What happened in Masewani was cultic. These people were not from around. They were wearing helmets shaped like skulls. Before arriving at the burial, the same crew was involved in an accident where two of them died. This is not normal,” Mule said.

The MP claimed that certain elements with “evil intentions” have infiltrated the boda boda sector, tarnishing the reputation of genuine operators.

“Our boda boda people are very calm, collected, and disciplined. Those were not from our area,” he added.

Mule has urged churches and community leaders to intensify efforts in guiding and mentoring the youth, warning that such practices could erode moral values and destabilize society.
