A day after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka vowed to defend Wavinya Ndeti after EACC raided the County Government Headquarters, a section of Machakos leaders have hit back at Kalonzo.
Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule said he expected Kalonzo to say he doesn’t support alleged theft of public resources.
“I was surprised when you said you would secure the release of your Governors if they are arrested. I expected you to say you don’t support theft in the National and county Governments.” Caleb said.
According to Caleb Wiper, Governors were not being targeted because of their support of the party, but because of what he said was their use of Public funds in the wrong way.
“They are not being targeted, some misuse funds, and when questioned, they say they are widows or they are being harassed because of their gender. What about the women suffering in hospital? Kalonzo should not defend theft; let them face the full force of the law.” The Machakos Town MP added.
Mua MCA Francis Ngunga told Kalonzo to keep off Machakos politics and concentrate on his Presidential bid, as they could soil his reputation easily.
“I saw Kalonzo in Sultan saying his Governors should not be touched. I want to tell Kalonzo to keep off Machakos affairs and concentrate on National politics. A thief is a thief even if they are in Wiper, Chap chap or ODM they don’t steal on behalf of the Party.” Ngunga said.
Kinanie MCA Francis Kavyu asked Kalonzo to keep off County affairs and to let MCAs and detectives do their work without politics.
“We cannot be selective on corruption issues, we respect Kalonzo Musyoka, but his utterances when we are losing money and people are suffering in hospitals, when investigations start, our presidential hopeful starts to politicize it, that’s wrong.”MCA Kavyu said.
“We love him, but let him leave us to correct Machakos’ issues because we cannot die when watching. We might not be the popular voice, but we are going to do oversight as expected,” Kavyu added
