Machakos County Women Representative Aspirant Selina Mwende Kioko has promised to ensure NGAAF offices are brought to the grassroots so that residents can be able to access them.
Speaking at a meet the people tour in Tala, Machakos county, Selina who is vying on a Federal Party of Kenya ticket noted that many of the residents were unable to access services offered by the affirmative action fund as they could not reach the county offices.
“I want to ensure that the less fortunate and residents of Machakos county are able to access the NGAAF offices and I will do this through ensuring that these offices are brought to the grassroots,” she said.
“Some people are unable to go to these which are in the county headquarters because of the travel expenses and if they are brought to the grassroots they can benefit them largely,” she added.
Selina also noted that the woman representative seat was not entirely about women but the men also would be empowered through various projects in the county.
“This seat is not for women or disabled but to ensure that even the men get empowered because they matter a lot in the society and we need to empower them,” she said.
Selina is seeking to unseat the incumbent Joyce Kamene Kasimbi who is seeking to be re-elected on a wiper ticket. Others include Liz Kisyang’a, Rita Ndunge.
