Wiper Badly Floors UDA in Kyome/Thaana ward

Wiper Party has floored the ruling party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to stamp authority of Kyome/Thaana ward in Mwingi West constituency

After the Wiper brigade led by their leader Kalonzo Musyoka held a massive last-minute campaign for their candidate Alphonse Mukwayu Musyimi, he won the seat with a landslide by 2,365 votes from the 42 polling stations.

Mukwayu was followed by independent candidate Joyce Mwende David who garnered 1,495 votes while the UDA candidate Macirice Gideon Munyithia got 784 votes.

Mwangangi Inorvertor Katuta followed the UDA party candidate closely with 774 votes while Wickliffe Mwamuli Musili got 653 votes. Jonathan Kimanzi Mutambu followed with 634 votes, David Muimi Muli 122, Paul Ngei Kyala 111 votes, Christina Katunge Musee got 11 votes, Shadrack Mulu Munyoki 10 votes, and Charles Kathingi Nguu 7 votes.

The win increases Wiper’s numbers in Kitui County Assembly to 25 members including the nominated members.

Kyome/Thaana ward election was postponed after the death of aspirant Stanley Ngui Muthengi popularly known as Muthengi Junior of Tujibebe Party hours after being cleared by IEBC.

In August, locals held demos asking IEBC to hold the elections for the MCA.
