Health workers in Mombasa county have announced they will begin their strike on Monday next week.
This is after the expiry of their seven-day notice to the county government.
The workers are complaining about not having received their salary for two months.
Addressing journalists led by Emily Musoi, Kenya Union of Nurses Secretary, Mombasa branch said that they have held meetings with the governor concerning the issue but nothing has been done.
“We haven’t been paid for two months, our bank accounts have been closed we have been walking on foot to work yet we are asked to report by 7:30 am. We have held several meetings with the governor where he lies to us that we will be paid soon but nothing happens,” said Musoi.
“We are suffering and no one is looking out for us at all. We are paid little but even the little comes very late, how do you expect us to manage,” she added.
They threatened not to get back to their jobs unless they are paid.
