In the South Eastern Region, questions have been raised about the academic papers of some candidates.
In Kitui, Dr. Julius Malombe has a BA degree in Building Economics from the University of Nairobi, MBA degree from Birmingham University in the UK, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the same university. Charity Ngilu has a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Management from St. Paul’s University. David Musila has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Government from Bishop University in Texas, US. Jonathan Mueke has a BSc in Computer Science from Wayne State University, USA, and an MBA in Global Information Technology and Entrepreneurship.
In Machakos County, Wavinya Ndeti has Masters in Business Systems Analysis and Design from The City University London, Masters in Business Administration from Heriot- Watt University in UK, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from South Bank University UK. Nzioka Waita has a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Sheffield, UK, and a Masters (LLM) in IT and Communications Law from the Queen Mary University of London. Sen. Johnson Muthama holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Cambridge University. There have been debates about his qualification but during his clearance by IEBC Muthama claimed that he is the only Machakos Governor aspirant with a first-class. In Makueni County, Prof. Emmanuel Mutisya undertook his first degree in Education from Egerton University which is a combination of studies at Karlstad University in Sweden, as part of an exchange program between the two universities. He did the last semester of his first degree at Karlstad University and then pursued an MSc in Mathematics at the same university. He holds a second Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan. He has a Ph.D. in Sustainability Science from the University of Tokyo in Japan. Dr. Patrick Musimba holds a BCom from the University of Nairobi, an MSc in Entrepreneurship, at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology; and a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development at the same university. Sen. Mutula Jnr holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Nagpur University in India. David Masika graduated from the University of Nairobi with a degree in Land Economics and is a licensed valuer who boasts vast experience in real estate.
