Musyi FM Presenter and Ngui Situ show host Onesmus Mwengei alias Sir Mwenge Mwenge has told off Kamba Benga artists for failing to turn up for Mercy Mawia’s burial on Friday.
Speaking over the weekend, Mwenge said the artists had proven to be unreliable because despite Mercy playing and promoting their songs only one Macha Karanga attended her burial.
“That’s how the artists are, you are with them when they are there, when you have a need they don’t show up. When they have their needs it’s all about them. That’s Mercy Mawia who was buried without a Benga artist? The top 10? Where were they? Mercy was a presenter. That’s the truth it will never change.” Mwenge questioned.
“How special are you? You might have gone to captains for candle lighting but on burial day you say you have concerts? Find those who will bury you when you are alive. When Mercy passed how many went there because he promoted them? only one Macha Karanga.. ” He added.
Mwenge explained his frustrations cautioning his colleagues in media who mobilize support for Benga artists when they are in need.
“As radio presenters, we play your music and promote you. When you die we even come to become MCs, these people stay like that, I have seen them in those years.” The Ngui situi host lamented.
