Radio presenter Onesmus Mwengei alias Sir Mwenge has alleged that the four men who went missing in December from Mlolongo, Mavoko sub-county, Machakos County, were involved in criminal activities.
Speaking during his morning show, Mwenge claimed that intelligence reports suggested the missing individuals may have been engaged in unlawful dealings.
He also questioned why there had been no public outcry or demonstrations over their disappearance, unlike in other regions where abductions have sparked protests.
“In Nakuru, when one person was abducted, it was not business as usual protests erupted. But in Mlolongo, four people disappeared, and no one demonstrated. Ask yourself why,” he remarked.
Additionally, Mwenge criticized area leaders, including Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and MCA Daniel Ndwiki, for their silence on the matter.
“It is alleged that some of these missing men had registered over 100 SIM cards under different identities, many using lost and found ID cards,” he added.
His remarks come amid ongoing investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), which last week revealed new leads into the mysterious disappearance.
The four missing individuals Justus Mutumwa, Kalandi Muema, Martin Mwai, and Steve Mbisi were reportedly taken in December by people believed to be police officers.
2 Men were found dead and their bodies were discovered at the City mortuary while the rest still remain missing.
